After the earthquake, 3,767 people died due to illness and stress.
346,987 people have been evacuated due to the earthquake, the accident of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
And 42,415 people are still evacuating.
Many people have lost their hometown due to tsunami and nuclear accident.

One mother said , “ I want to tell you that my son was certainly alive here.”
She lost her son in the tsunami and then became the storyteller of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
There used to be a daily life here.
And people still have sadness and difficult lives.
And many people still can’t return to their hometown.
In order not to forget this sadness and wish, we ring the bell every year at 14:46 on March 11,
when the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred.
The event name is “Wasurena no Kane”  The meaning is “ Don’t forget that earthquake”

I would mourn the lost life.
I would ask what the dead left behind.
I would ask what the dead people wanted to us .
I would want to live with the dead people and their wish.
And I want to keep thinking about how to live in the present and the future.
What will people living in the future ask us ?

What does the earthquake leave with ?
Anger, hard, anxiety, hope, despair, light, sadness, wishes, mourning, reunion.
People think of these words in their own way.
We think about the last 10 years with our own thoughts.
We would like share it with everyone in the world.

With everyone,
Those who want to forget,
Those who have forgotten,
Those who swear that they will never forget,
We pray with all those people.
